Birthday Gifts from 20-year-old Self, with Love

Last Sunday, I didn’t plan on going shopping because I knew I’ll be spending a lot for my 20th Birthday Giveaway (which was a success, by the way) The girls and I paid Etude House a visit after getting our nails done and I just couldn’t resist buying stuff for myself! My mom always told me how impulsive I am when it comes to buying stuff. It would be worst case scenario if I have cash and card with me (which at that time, I did).

Here’s a valid reason for my impulsive shopping: It was my birthday!!! And I never really bought myself anything. I think the only thing I’ve given myself is the gift of health and fitness. I’ve been and still am working my ass off every single day just to maintain all those crazy normal BMI, height-weight proportion…etc. So I deserve this. All of this!!!

This is the Secret Beam Highlighter—I’ve been meaning to get myself one of these for the longest time but I never really wanted to spend PHP 478.00 for it. I finally conquered my being thrifty and got it! I am sooooo damn glad I did. Achi Char has the same highlighter but in the other shade. I personally love this thing! A review on my beauty blog to follow.This is the Side-end Long Lashes from Etude House! My favorite among all their selection of lashes!!! They had it on stock, fortunately, and I didn’t let the opportunity go to waste and bought myself a pair for PHP 198.00 (I know it’s a bit pricey for just a pair of lashes, but what the hell—I like it.) *My blockmate Magnus said I was wearing "pakpak”  on my eyes (wings) the other day in school. Hahaha! I had these on, that’s why!

BaByLiss Paris iPRO200 Ceramic Curling Iron with Nano Technology (Sol-gel Titanium Digital Ceramic Iron 25mm)—I first laid my eyes on the VS curling iron which costs PHP 2,200.00 but later found this sign by the BaByliss shelf. 30% off baby!!! Damn, of course I jumped in. I wanted the one with the bigger barrel, but it wasn’t included in the sale and there was no way I’m going to pay two thousand bucks for an iron. After trying the iron out and getting positive feedback from Genn and Sannie (who patiently waited for me to finish with the testing of the iron) I paid for it at the counter! PHP 1,907.50 slashed off in my card. Hoo boy… well, I consider this an investment as well. I’m venturing into something beyond the usual. My Top 5: Over the Weekend

1. O.P.I. “Big Apple Red”—had my nails done at the Perfectly Polished Nail Salon and Spa last Sunday (during my date with the winners of my 20th Birthday Giveaway, Genn and Sannie) and I picked this shade. I don’t think I can ever hate any shade of red. I love all of it!

2. BaByliss iPRO200 Curling Iron—Impulse shopped because at the back of my mind I was thinking “I deserve to buy gifts for myself!” This is one of those. May I just say how I freaking love this curling iron? BaByliss, I love you!

3. Happy Fanshu Pearl Milk Tea—ahhh, milk tea. Milk tea, milk tea. When will I ever get tired of you? Not anytime soon, methinks.

4. Etude House Secret Beam Highlighter—it was a battle between the marble one and this one. Same price, same glimmer. But I chose this one, and I don’t regret it. I am in loooo-hoove with this highlighter.

5. Liven Coffee—oh Liven, I crave for you every 2:00AM, what have you done to me? I shouldn’t be drinking coffee because according to Neutrogena, drinking coffee is a skin dehydrating activity! Why oh why! *Oh well, you have like a bajillion benefits, might as well drink up!

Chatime Good Tea Good Time

If you were able to read How I Spent the Last Day of April, you'd know how I spent a wonderful overnight stay at my good friend's (Sarah) house. After having dinner, we went to Chatime to have some milk tea and quality time together. 

I was wondering if this was better than Happy Lemon because so far, among all the milk tea that I tried, Happy Lemon is #1.

Upon entering you will be greeted with this lighted sign. The menu. I believe the ones marked with crowns are the best ones. (Well, what else could they mean!)

I wasn't feeling experimental that time so I chose to stick to something safe and ordered the Pearl Milk Tea. I went for the large one, normal sugar level and normal ice level (not really picky with these things). 

I love the packaging, looks neat and pleasing! Just like any other milk tea, actually. Didn't wow me or anything. Tastes like regular milk tea! Which is good.

Only PHP 90.00 for this baby. Well, I'm a milk tea person, so I'm willing to pay this much. It's understandable if some people find it expensive (just for a drink).

Drank half already and there was only one thing in my mind... "Why are there too many pearls?!" I actually felt thirsty from all the chewing! No kidding. 

There was a huge TV playing a movie to keep customers entertained. Also, there were all kinds of board games available. Even cards (which I don't know how to play). My friends all had fun with it, though! 

My stomach ached a few hours after consuming my Pearl Milk Tea. I think we just don't mesh well. You'll end up in the bathroom. So I don't think I'll be going back to Chatime anytime soon (or anytime ever). But I must say it's cool. Not just as cool as Happy Lemon! 

And I have yet to try Serenitea.
