March 31, 4:25 AM—I experienced my first plane ride ever.
Impossible as it may sound, I have never ridden a plane before. Two simple reasons:
- I don’t wanna die [airplane crash]
- I only spend vacation in places that could be traveled by land
As early as February, I planned my first ever vacation in Cebu! I felt so grown up—you know, booking my flight, hotels and all that. It was such a great timing to visit Paulo after over a year of not seeing each other (yes, LDR since DEC 2010) I also wanted to take a break FAR AWAY from Manila just for a week before all the work starts again.
My flight was scheduled at 4:25AM. I didn’t sleep the night before—I was busy packing and making sure I don’t leave anything behind, nor bring too much. I left home at 2:30AM. Arrived at NAIA Terminal 3 just in time.
THE FIRST COOL THING THAT HAPPENED THAT DAY:
“Miss Say!” (from the Cebu Pacific employee behind the counter I was checking my luggage in)
This girl named Cherry recognized me! I was surprised because I thought she just saw my ID or something. Then she told me “Kakanuod ko lang ng video mo kahapon!” (“I was just watching your video yesterday!”)
How sweet! That’s something that really made me smile.
Pee break before the flight!
After saying bye to Cherry, I proceeded to my gate. Full benches! I had no where to sit because some people had the courtesy to let their bags sit beside them. What I did was stand there for 10 minutes, waited for good souls to put their bags on the floor—but to no avail. So I walked in a coffee shop to have some brewed coffee while waiting.
I think I paid PHP 90.00 for a cup of coffee. What can I do? I wanted a seat!
Boarding time came and I just followed everyone else in the same flight as I was—we rode a shuttle to the plane.
First time I saw an airplane that close to me.
Seatbelt on!
Of course I picked a seat by the window. I couldn’t believe I was inside an actual plane. Felt really excited. Plus, I had the whole left side to myself! I had no seatmate!
Of course I didn’t know how those lights above me worked. I wanted to switch off the reading light, but I accidentally pushed the wrong button [the one that calls the attention of the flight attendants] Damn, I was like, “Oh no, sorry sorry.” Hahahaha (goodness)
I couldn’t feel the life vest under my seat. Even after the demonstration of the attendants, I was worrying what if the plane do crashes and I can’t find the life vest?!
No seatmates!
They had this magazine for everyone to read onboard.
I tried my best to study this card before the plane took off. Hahaha!
I vlogged the whole taking off of the plane!!! It was such a nice experience! I couldn’t believe I was actually up in the air.
Dawn was breaking and I just knew I was going to see the best sunrise ever
I was right!
I always heard people saying how clouds look like cotton candy…
THEY DO!!!
Here I was, vlogging, and taking photos simultaneously. *My iPhone was in “airplane mode” so don’t worry!*
One of my favorite photos ever!!!
Hello, CEBU!!!
The trip took 1 hour and 15 minutes.
I’m finally here.
